7 Visual polish and data punch

Module 7 – Visual Polish & Data Punch

Why this module matters

Great content can still fall flat if the slides look cluttered or data is missing. In this lesson you’ll learn a fast routine to refine layouts, add high-impact visuals or charts, tighten copy, and ensure brand consistency—all inside Gamma in just a few minutes.

Learning outcomes

By the end of this module you will be able to…
Adjust slide layouts for clarity and emphasis.
Choose or swap images and icons that strengthen your message.
Create quick charts in Gamma using small data tables from ChatGPT.
Tighten on-slide text so visuals take centre stage.
Run a Three-C sweep (Clutter, Consistency, Colour) to finish like a pro designer.

1 Do a layout pass

Click through each slide and ask:
• Does this idea need more space? Switch to a two-column or big-number layout.
• Is a bullet redundant? Move it to Speaker Notes or delete.
• Could an icon list replace wordy text? Use Gamma’s built-in icon blocks.

2 Select images and icons

• For concepts (heritage, sustainability, innovation) pick one Unsplash photo or AI image.
• For processes or lists add a simple icon beside each bullet. One visual per idea is enough.

3 Add quick charts with ChatGPT tables

When a number will convince your audience, ask ChatGPT for a mini table such as:

Year | Visitors (k)
2021 | 820
2022 | 950
2023 | 1 050

Copy the table into Gamma’s chart block and choose bar or line. Need comparisons? Request a table of “Jurisdiction | Average stay (days)” for your five benchmarks and drop it into a horizontal bar chart.

4 Tighten bullet text

Prompt ChatGPT:
“Rewrite every slide bullet to 10 words or fewer, start with a verb or number.”
Replace the originals so visuals and white space can breathe.

5 Run the Three-C Final Sweep

Clutter – delete duplicate visuals or stray bullets.
Consistency – check font sizes, icon style, image aspect ratio.
Colour – confirm all charts and shapes use your brand palette.

Recap

  1. Layout pass for breathing room and focus.

  2. Strategic images and icons to reinforce key points.

  3. Quick charts from mini tables for instant data punch.
